Project Goal: Create a short, accurate, listener-friendly narration explaining Old Faithful and its hydrothermal setting in Yellowstone National Park.

1. Governance

The Governance Framework guides the project. As recurring controls become useful beyond one artifact or execution, they are preserved in the Governance Repository.

2. Research

3. Knowledge

Knowledge Configuration Variables Subject: Old Faithful | Audience: general adult listener | Use: approved findings only Accepted Knowledge Hydrothermal System: Rain and snow supply groundwater that moves through faults and fractures. At depth, magma and hot rock heat the water. The heated water rises through a hidden plumbing system. For a general audience, the essentials are water, heat, and a pathway through rock. How a Geyser Erupts: A geyser is a hot spring with constrictions in its plumbing. Deep water becomes very hot under pressure. As heated water rises, steam forms and expands until water and steam are forced from the vent. Old Faithful in Context: Old Faithful is part of Yellowstone’s larger hydrothermal system and is regular enough to support predictions, but it does not erupt on an exact hourly timetable. Stable Safety Context: Visitors in thermal areas should remain on boardwalks and designated trails and should not touch thermal features or runoff. Current conditions and regulations should be checked with the National Park Service. Excluded Material: Current eruption predictions, live park conditions, travel planning, detailed visitor itineraries, and unvalidated claims are not part of this Accepted Knowledge. 4. Runtime

Do not conduct new Research or add factual information from general model knowledge. Runtime Configuration Variables Audience: general adult listener | Length: approximately two minutes | Tone: calm, clear, approachable, curious | Format: continuous spoken narration Input Knowledge Supply the complete approved NPN-KNW-001 content. If the Knowledge is missing, incomplete, or unreadable, stop and request it. Task Definition Introduce Old Faithful within Yellowstone’s hydrothermal setting; explain water, underground heat, rock pathways, constricted plumbing, pressure, and steam; explain that Old Faithful is predictable but not on an exact hourly timetable; include a brief stable safety statement. Output Requirements Return a narration draft and a short internal validation note. Preserve the approved facts and qualifications. Do not add unsupported current guidance or eruption predictions. Sequential Output Requirements If the complete Project Output cannot fit in one response, continue at natural stopping points without compression or omission. Validation Check the output against the Task Definition, complete approved Knowledge, required components, terminology, and output conditions. Human editorial review is required before public use.

Runtime produces a Project Output. Human review decides whether it is accepted, revised, rejected, or routed back to the responsibility that owns a problem.

5. Project Output and Human Review

Project Output Excerpt Old Faithful is one visible expression of Yellowstone’s much larger hydrothermal system. Water from rain and snow moves underground through cracks and fractures, where heat from deep below warms it. In a geyser, constricted underground plumbing helps trap that hot water under pressure. As steam forms and expands, water and steam are eventually forced upward in an eruption. Old Faithful is predictable, but it does not erupt on an exact hourly schedule.

Before public use, the narration is reviewed against the approved Knowledge, Runtime requirements, and applicable project standards.

Governance guides. Research discovers. Human review accepts. Knowledge preserves. Runtime executes. Human review closes the cycle.
